Bryson Morris Has High Expectations for Laguna Seca

Bryson Morris is looking to build on his strong start to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The young driver is pulling double duty again, racing with ANSA Motorsports in a Lamborghini and with the potent Bryan Herta Autosport program in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

In the first Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race weekend of the season, Morris and his teammate Loris Cabirou drove to a pair podium results. In the second round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Morris and teammate Taylor Hagler encountered an issue early in the race that set them two laps back, and the Bryan Herta Autosport duo ultimately had to settle for a ninth-place finish when the checkered flag flew all while clocking the fastest lap of the race with Morris behind the wheel.

“Last race out was a bit of a mixed bag,” Morris explained. “It was great to get back on the podium in Super Trofeo, but we couldn’t bounce back from the issues we had in the Michelin Pilot Challenge race even though we had enough pace to set the fastest lap of the race.”

Heading into the Motul Course De Monterey Powered by Hyundai N, Morris is excited to have another opportunity for a strong weekend of double duty driving.

“I’m looking forward to driving both series again this weekend,” Morris added. “Hopefully, we can build on our good start to the Super Trofeo season and come back stronger in the Michelin Pilot Challenge program.”

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America program will first take to the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit Friday morning for practice one of the weekend, followed by two IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practices and one more Super Trofeo practice. Saturday hosts qualifying sessions for both the Super Trofeo and Michelin Pilot Challenge series. The Michelin Pilot Challenge is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, with race one in Super Trofeo planned for Saturday evening. The weekend wraps up with race two in Super Trofeo on Sunday morning.
